白襪主砲：又一個浪費的球季

芝加哥白襪隊本季戰績不佳勝率不到4成，日前曾萌生退休念頭的陣中主砲鄧恩(Adam Dunn)，面對球隊現況，愛之深責之切地嘆，說這是「另一個浪費的球季」，認為球隊重建在即。

白襪隊最近一次拿到分區冠軍已是2008年的事，去年拿下85勝77敗的白襪，勝率還有到5成；但本季敗場卻遠多過勝場，吞下91敗，甚至有可能在球季結束前敗場「破百」。

低迷的戰績也讓白襪重砲鄧恩說話，稱本季是「另一個浪費的球季」。鄧恩表示，他無法不去在意這球隊到底怎麼了，因為他們從去年就是這樣的情況，前年、大前年也是。

17日迎戰雙城，這位擊出本季第32發紅不讓的重砲也認為，戰績不佳正是考驗人性的最佳時刻，「這個相當長且艱難的球季；你大可以上去打個滾地球，但也可以將你的能力發揮到極限。」

大聯盟生涯來到第13個球季的鄧恩，2011年才從國民隊加盟白襪，從未打過季後賽的他，想拿到世界大賽冠軍戒的欲望可想而知，鄧恩說道，「如果不是想奪冠我也不會打到今天，這就是我的目標。」

白襪隊總教頭范屈拉(Robin Ventura)，並不怪罪鄧恩有此想法，「以一個球員的心態，球季結束一定會有這種念頭，我完全了解他想表達的。」
