英知名大盜畢格茲逝世　享壽84歲

【國際中心╱綜合外電報導】英國最惡名昭彰之一罪犯畢格茲（Ronnie Biggs），參與犯下1963年「火車大劫案」，18日早上在倫敦一間養老院逝世，享壽84歲。他不但至死沒有後悔當日打劫火車，反而終身引以為傲。
 
畢格茲晚年多次中風並有其他健康問題，身體虛弱，不能說話，出入都要靠輪椅代步。他的發言人17日透過推特公佈他的死訊，但沒有透露死因。
 
1963年，15名歹徒在倫敦劫持一列開往格拉斯哥的郵政火車，搶走當年堪稱天文數字的260萬英鎊（相當現今幣值3000萬英鎊，約16.5億元台幣）。畢格茲1964年被判刑30年，入獄15個月後成功越獄，開啟長達36年的逃亡生涯，2001年已71歲的他返回英國自首，即時入獄，至2009年因健康理由獲准保外就醫。
