促棒球重返奧運 卡斯楚之子遊說IOC

古巴和美國這兩個宿敵至少有一件事是立場相同的，就是棒球應該重返奧林匹克運動會。

古巴前領導人卡斯楚的兒子安東尼奧．卡斯楚(Antonio Castro)，目前正在阿根廷布宜諾斯艾利斯，遊說國際奧林匹克委員會(International Olympic Committee；IOC)讓棒(壘)球重回2020年奧運比賽項目。

安東尼奧是「世界棒壘球聯盟」(World Baseball Softball Confederation，WBSC)的現任主席。

棒球從2008年起不再是奧運正式比賽項目。國際奧會表示，如果棒球要返回奧運，必須和壘球結合成為一個比賽項目。「世界棒壘球聯盟」因而在2013年4月因應成立，並由來自棒球強國古巴的安東尼奧擔任首任主席。

安東尼奧正積極遊說奧會委員支持棒(壘)球。他表示，全世界有6,500萬人打棒球，其中超過400萬是兒童，全球有140多個棒球組織，140多個國家會轉播棒球比賽。安東尼奧強調，棒球會為奧運提升價值。

除了棒壘球之外，壁球和摔角也爭取成為奧運比賽項目，但是只有1項運動能夠獲選。國際奧會委員目前正在布宜諾斯艾利斯集會，他們將在8日投票作出決定。
