儘管紐約尼克開季戰績是全聯盟倒數第2的3勝13敗，總教練Mike Woodson依然有信心拿到分區冠軍，而且他的理論還不無幾分道理。

「目前沒有任何人從分區爭奪戰中被淘汰。」Woodson於5日受訪時說：「我認為我們還是可以贏得分區冠軍。」

目前為止，尼克3勝13敗，勝率18.8%，理所當然在東區大西洋組墊底，全聯盟僅優於密爾瓦基公鹿的17.6%。

不過換個角度看，大西洋組今年戰力不如以往，暫居龍頭的波士頓塞爾提克勝率正好4成，只領先尼克3場勝差。

「我們去年贏過一次，我認為我們還是可以再拿一次分區冠軍。」Woodson說。

尼克上季54勝28敗，在大西洋組稱王、東區排名高居第2，不過開季前16場比賽只輸4場，和今年的狀況完全相反。
