高雄美國學校今天(24日)舉辦25週年校慶暨校舍動土典禮，高雄市長陳菊應邀出席時表示，高雄美國學校創校初期租用高雄長庚醫院宿舍當作教室使用，但在民國90年借用福東國小2年，帶動該校英語教學風氣，相信完工後的美國學校新校區將成為可完整提供學生從幼稚園到高中一貫學習的美式校園，給師生一個最優質的學習環境。
