保障安全 新竹火車站前增號誌

（中央社記者林瑞益新竹16日電）新竹市政府交通處考慮民眾安全，在新竹火車站前的中華路二段與中正路口，及中華路二段與林森路口增設行人專用時相號誌。

新竹市政府交通處表示，新竹火車站是新竹市長程、短程交通運輸中心，周邊涵蓋市區、國道客運業者及百貨公司，行人及交通車流量大，易形成轉向車流與行人交織干擾，市府邀請相關單位會勘後，評估實施「行人專用時相」號誌，以保障路口通行安全。

新竹市政府交通處呼籲，行人及駕駛人通過路口時，請各依照指示燈行進，共同維護交通安全；新竹市政府也將持續加強宣導及請執法單位落實執法，盼建立互相尊重及禮讓行人的優良行車文化。

新竹市議員林智堅表示，市府交通處的動作很慢，他於上個會期就要求改善，雖然慢，但仍對市府交通處增設行人專用時相號誌給予肯定，希望市府在日後的施政可以更有效率。1020916
